My Third Hand

About Us

Adulting is not a solo act.
It's a team sport.

At My Third Hand, we believe that building a meaningful, independent life doesn't happen in isolation—it happens through relationships, shared experiences, and systems that actually make sense in the real world.

OUR MISSION

We exist to help modern adults—and the people who support them—learn how to navigate life with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

My Third Hand is a talent development and learning platform reimagining how modern adults build, share, and apply essential life and care skills. Our mission is to prepare for "What's Next?" (from making a sandwich to navigating major life transitions with continuity of care).

With a focus on caregivers of people with developmental disabilities and those they support, we bring positive-psychology and goal-directed behavior into everyday practice.

By making care skills easier to learn, teach, document, and ultimately monetize, we help people build confidence, create value, and participate more fully in their communities while developing the human capital needed for the growing care economy.

THE THESIS

Knowledge transfers through people, practice, and community.

Three vectors. Not theory — the actual mechanics of how grown-up skills move from one human to the next. Everything we build sits on top of them.

01 / PEOPLE

Mentors, peers, and the person two steps ahead.

Most of what matters in adult life is caught, not taught. We build the rooms — and the relationships — that make that catching happen on purpose.

02 / PRACTICE

Real reps in real life, not slideshows.

You learn to host by hosting. You learn to lead by leading. Every club, camp, and public life space is a structured place to try, fumble, and try again.

03 / COMMUNITY

A team that notices when you show up — and when you don't.

Skills stick when they're shared. Belonging compounds when people keep coming back to the same people, in the same places, with the same intent.

What We Do

We coach HEROs.

Not superheroes.
Real people.

People who are:

  • figuring out what's next
  • supporting someone they love
  • helping others grow
  • building something bigger than themselves

Our goal is simple:

Help people learn how to adult responsibly, contribute good vibes to their community, and follow their hearts.

How It Works

We use one shared system that works across:

home

work

community

One system. Different starting points. Level playing field.

No matter where someone begins, they are learning the same language—just applied to their world.

The On-Ramp Philosophy

Everyone enters differently.

Some people come in through:

  • a club
  • a conversation
  • a caregiver
  • a job opportunity
  • a moment of "what's next?"

We don't force people into a box.

We meet them where they are—and build from there.

So simple anyone can learn it. So structured anyone can teach it.

That's not just a tagline. It's the design principle behind everything we do.

We break down complex life skills into:

  • → simple steps
  • → visual tools
  • → repeatable systems

This creates a level playing field, where:

  • participants can understand what they're doing
  • caregivers can reinforce it
  • employers can recognize it
  • communities can support it

It removes the guesswork.

And replaces it with structure.

HOW GROWTH HAPPENS

Learn It → Practice It → Live It

We don't believe life skills are learned once. They are built through experience.

  1. 01

    Learn It

    Understand the system

  2. 02

    Practice It

    Apply it in real environments

  3. 03

    Live It

    Build confidence, independence, and identity

This is how growth becomes real.

Why It Works

We don't just teach tasks—we build confidence from the inside out.

Our approach aligns with the modern research on Psychological Capital, measured by HERO:

  • Hope – believing there is a path forward
  • Efficacy – believing "I can do this"
  • Resilience – learning how to bounce back
  • Optimism – believing things can get better

When people practice real life in real environments, these qualities don't just get taught—they get experienced.

What Makes This Different

Most programs:

  • • focus on one setting
  • • teach one skill at a time
  • • stop at participation

We are different.

We create a connected system where people:

  • → learn skills
  • → practice them socially
  • → apply them in real life
  • → and grow into roles that matter

Participants don't just attend.

They become contributors. Leaders. Hosts. Builders.

OUR VISION

The Bigger Picture

We are building a world where:

  • People are not defined by what they can't do
  • Communities create real opportunities for participation
  • Caregivers have tools—not just responsibilities
  • Modern adults can step into lives that feel meaningful and their own

Our Belief

Everyone deserves:

  • a place to belong
  • a role to play
  • and a reason to show up

Sometimes, all it takes is a third hand to get started.

Start where you are. We'll meet you there.
